i think at first she pictured keeping the group in a holding area that was separate from the studio. keeping us isolated from the actual interview space while waiting our turns for the third degree.

but somewhere along the line she and co-producer bill cormier decided to put us all in a big circle. set the mics up in the center. so it was interviewing in the round. fishbowl. a party. fun fun fun.

john powhida was on the hot seat first.

'enough about my music - let's talk about my lyrics.'

that set the tone.

for fun fun fun.

as i babbled about it to paddy in an e-mail the next day:

it's nites like last nite that help me remember how much fun the journey is. ya know what i'm talking about? not worrying about who's getting what gigs and who's getting what press and how many cds i'm selling and how green the grass is on the other side and what am i doing with my life and just having a good time with it, with good people. the art's the thing, the people are the thing. the other stuff is nice if you can get it, but it ain't shit without the art and the people and the fun. (and oh yeah - having troy's love child is the thing, too. the THANG.)

that's my story and i'm stickin' to it.

peace, yo.
