Three months later, and not much to report. The edit is in the beginning stages. But:
Carl was on the east coast for a video production gig last month. So a few days before Thanksgiving, we met up to take the train down to New York City to 1) face-to-face with Scott Gorman, who'll be editing the project 2) hang with Matt, Gina and Heather and 3) get our rock and roll on for Benjamin Wagner 's CD release party.
Two outta three ain't bad.
Thanks to a two-hour train delay, we weren't able to meet up with Scott that day. I had to head back to Albany that night, but Carl was able to meet up with him the next morning. He reports that Scott likes what he sees in the raw footage, is down with Carl's ideas for the project, and came up with several good ideas of his own. Scott's a busy, busy, busy man, but he thinks he can have something for Carl to see by the end of the month.
Thanks to M, G and H for a good hang - and thanks to Ben for rockin' our world at the Canal Room . It's been a long time since Ben and I last hung out together , and his music just gets better and better. With damn near six years of water under the bridge, I think it's finally safe to disclose that he's the Mr. W. of the song Interview on the Radio Plastic Jennifer album. (More on that here . But I'm still not saying who the notorious 'Lisa' is!) And a shout out to Ben's bro Chris - no slouch in video production himself. I'll try to post some pics of the Canal Room fun soon.
And hopefully I'll have more to report on the Babylon video in the next coupla weeks. (I'm as nervous as anyone: Carl hasn't let me see even ONE FRAME of footage yet!)

PS: Scott used to work with Ben back in the day at The MTV. How's that for planetary alignment?
