DAY TWO: September 5, 2004
10:00 a.m. Hail Mary.
The great one liners are flying out of Mary while we're sitting at the bar waiting for our first take. Here's one:
"He's out there changing the world, I'm at home changing channels."
I'm trying to convince the crew to forget Babylon and just film Mary's ad-lib rants.
I mean, there's art, and then there's art.
5:29 p.m. Indifferently.
We're done with most of the performance footage, from several different camera angles. Seemed to go well, but I don't really know, since I'm in front of the camera. Not sure I want to know.
Right now we're in the middle of my interactions with Mary; the actual open mic signup, with Mary greeting me indfferently, and the closing shot with Mary indifferently kicking me off the stage.
She's great. Hilarious.
It's a good thing we did the performance footage first: I'm about to fall over.
NEXT: "11,000 words, yo"
